Masthead designs

Today in lesson I worked with some ideas for my masthead designs, I used different tools such a the drag tool, to expand individual letters to make it more unique and make the masthead more memorable. I especially like the choice of colour which is purple I believe that this will be the most suitable colour. Below are some of my ideas for the masthead, I have come to a conclusion that Bona Fide will be the name of my magazine it simply means authentic, genuine and real. 

Also I am most reluctant to pick the first design this is there is no other masthead out there which looks as quirky and different to this.

Media product evaluation presentation

Here is the presentation I have created to justify my reasons for using specific technologies for each question of my evaluation:

Q1:

The technology I have decided to use for question one is a slideshare, I believe this specific software is appropriate as question one has more data that needs to be covered and I can justify my reasons efficiently using this technology. Alongside text pictures will be added as well as annotated to ensure I answer the questions completely.


Q2:

The technology I have decided to use for question two is stupeflix, , by using this technology I can create a short video clip which explain why my media product represents a particular social group. I think that this is a suitable software as it is not just interactive but a unique way of presenting my answer.

Q3:
The technology I have decided to use for question three is spiderscribe, I believe that by using spiderscribe I can create a well answer for Q3. I will also be adding images alongside text. It is a easier software to navigate as well as explore from.


Q4:

The technology I have decided to use for question four is a slideshare the reason being is that although it is quite a short answer images could be added and the software chosen makes it look far more professional than an ordinary powerpoint presentation.

Q5:

The technology I have decided to use for question five is slideshare. For this to happen I first have to create a powerpoint and within this I will use images as another way of presenting my answer. 

Q6:
Fir this question I will be using a prezi, this is an interactive way of presenting my answe I will be using the facilities they accomodate on this sofware for example the layout and background design.

Q7:

The technology I have decided to use for question six is spiderscibe because once again there is rather a lot of information that needs to be covered for this question and spiderscribe most suitable for this. 

NME examples for my music magazine

After browsing on the internet, researching on ideas for the front of my music magazine I decided to analyse NME in depth as it based on the genre of rock which links to my chosen genre which is indie and indie caters for rock as well. I especially liked how the bold red masthead standed out also, because it is only three letters it makes it more likely to be memorable for the buyers
Therefore taking this in to consideration I wanted to also have a short masthead so I came up with IND.

Notes for Jounalism DPS.

• You get marked on your written english for example, punctuation, grammar, syntax and mode of address. Targeting a specific audience, drawing on genre, music industry.
• Interview based piece with your cover star
• 1st person, commentary based piece: beginning (background to artist; setting); middle: interview (Q&A) short introduction and a conclusion to summarise the whole interview.
• Make your writing interesting.
• Create a backstory. 
• personality of the artist.
• Make sure your DPS is interesting so that it can efficiently sell.
• It is not an essay you are catering to a youthful audience, make sure the language is appropriate.

Concept: The photo-shoot is to have an authentic indie vibe to it, where the model is supposed to have a strong body posture, the image is to be a face shot however this may change during the shoot.

Have them about 6 feet away from the backdrop. Unless you want them bleached up.
